Credit Card Security

We take the protection of your credit card details seriously. We protect your credit card information during transmission by using Payment Express Technology incorporating CVC Security, which encrypts the information you input. Your credit card details are not held by Possum New Zealand and cannot be accessed by Possum New Zealand staff.

Returns Policy

Possum New Zealand prides itself on its high standards of quality control.
If your order* is not quite what you imagined, simply notify us within 7 days of its receipt and we will exchange, repair or refund your purchase. *Applies to standard items purchased through website. Does not apply to custom orders.

All you have to do is:

  • Email Possum New Zealand immediately to advise us of the problem
  • Return it to us at your cost within 30 days of emailing us.
  • Ensure the item is in its original condition unworn with the original swing ticket in place.

When we replace your item we will include a complimentary 'possie-pressie' to contribute to the cost of the return postage.

Please please advise us whether you are sending the merchandise by courier or post. NOTE. Possum New Zealand's courier and postal addresses are different.

All standard items purchased from Possum New Zealand are SHIPPED FREE! See our Urgent Orders Policy for exceptions. We ship to most international locations via New Zealand Post, DHL or Fedex. If you are unsure about shipping, please contact us.

Customs & Import Duties

All prices shown in New Zealand Dollars are inclusive of GST (Goods and Service Tax). Purchases transacted in international currencies are exempt from GST.

As every country has different import criteria, Possum New Zealand cannot predict what duties, taxes or service charges, if any, may be applicable at your end.

However Possum New Zealand does provide the following to assist purchasers:

  • A CITES report, stating the Possum’s invasive species status in New Zealand.
  • Harmonised tariff codes, wherever possible, to facilitate clearance.

Delivery Information

As Possum New Zealand manufactures all of its own products, the majority of our delivery times should be within 21 working days of the receipt of order (excluding weekends or public holidays).

If for any reason we cannot manufacture your order within this time, you will be notified as soon as possible so that you can make a decision regarding backorders.

Possum New Zealand will not be liable for delays beyond our control, especially for pre-Christmas consignments held up by Post Offices or freight organisations at either end.

Urgent Orders

Possum New Zealand will normally ship your order via New Zealand Post or DHL, and all freight costs are absorbed by our company for your convenience.

However, should you wish the goods to be sent with high priority, we can arrange to have your order couriered urgently to most worldwide destinations. This will involve additional freight charges at your end. If this is the case, please contact us via email and we will provide details of additional charges.

Fur Care Instructions

  • Do not expose to excessive natural or artificial light as this may cause fading in time.
  • Do not expose to excessive heat as a hot iron or blow dryer may cause your fur to shrink.
  • Do not immerse in water.
  • Do not use bleach or put in a washing machine.
  • Do not store in plastic but in a well ventilated, dry closet or wrap in cotton fabric so that the garment "breathes."
  • Shake regularly to restore the pile and to prevent dust from settling.

Should you wish to clean:

  1. Wring out a lukewarm wet cloth till it is barely damp.
  2. Squirt a drop of liquid mild detergent and massage into the cloth then gently wipe over the fur.  Do not apply moisture to the suede side at all if exposed.
  3. Rinse the cloth in cold water and wring hard again before applying to the possum fur to wipe off any excess detergent. Dry naturally in shade.
  4. Shake or brush to fluff up.

Possum New Zealand will not be held accountable if these instructions are not followed precisely.

If you are nervous about the above, a reputable suede and leather drycleaner may be your best option.

Knitwear Care Instructions

  1. Remove any detachable possum fur trim on garment apart from possum buttons (if any).
  2. Hand wash in lukewarm water, with a mild detergent.
  3. Rinse in cold water with fabric softener.
  4. Gently squeeze out excess water and place into shape while lying flat on towel in shade to dry, replacing towel with a dry one when necessary.

Do not use bleach, do not wring, and do not place in a washing machine at any stage of the cleaning process.

All knitwear can be dry-cleaned.
